The playoffs were on the line and LA Galaxy hadn’t been below the playoff line all season. Destiny was in their own hands. Win and you are in. This was the Corner of the Galaxy show broadcast a few days before the massive final home game vs Minnesota. Dare I say some of the truths discussed might seem even more valid now.
LA Galaxy is a five star shirt team. Mediocrity is too accepted across all facets of the club. Excellence has been replaced with complacency. The fans deserve more. Excuses are for start-ups. This is a globally renowned franchise. Time to re-ignite the team’s culture and DNA. This starts at the very top.
Jack Wilshere is one of the Arsenal’s most beloved sons. But for his injuries, he could’ve become an absolute great. Despite the challenges he faced, when he did pull that shirt on he always wore it with pride and love. He knew what it meant to play for a club like the Arsenal. Over the years, he’s been able to share his Gunners wisdom and has become an inspiration to today’s Hale End lads, including, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.
You will not want to miss this conversation with Super Jack & Super Kev. This is a very candid look at what was and what could’ve been. It doesn’t get much better than this! Nuff said…just take a listen!
Always love contributing to this fantastic LA Galaxy podcast. On this episode we talk new signings and the excitement of having fans back in stadiums. Plus there’s a reference to a very famous Greek singer that sent Josh directly to iTunes!

Another stellar episode with Josh on Corner of the Galaxy. On this episode we discuss LA’s new kit launch. It pays homage to the badge, memories and pedigree that is LA Galaxy. From the colors, to the design and those super fly socks that rock…we dissect it all and then some.
For me, the kit launch was a reminder of normality. A time in life that perhaps we all took for granted. The club really did a great job of making this entire launch feel special. It elevated the fans mood and gave everyone who loves the Galaxy something to look forward to and be excited about. For a brief moment, we all felt normal again. And we all gave ourselves permission to be okay with being happy. Something that has been hard to feel over the last year with this horrific pandemic.
Football is all about community and having a sense of belonging. This particular episode felt like a throwback to the times we would all get together. To hug, laugh, rant, rave, love, like, debate, agree or disagree. The launch of a new kit is a massive event. And to be able to pull something like this off without the crowds, the media and influencers in person was a credit to the club. It made us all fee normal. Well done to all involved. Doesn’t hurt that the new kit is absolutely on fleek!

I returned for my resident stint on the epic Corner of the Galaxy show. Tough conversations were had about star signing and Mexico legend, Chicharito. This is not an easy task, especially when all you want to do is wax lyrical about his performances since arriving in Los Angeles. The story hasn’t gone according to plan, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to change the narrative.
Like I mentioned on my Talksport segment last week, I live in hope that Chicharito will come good. Fitness is one of his biggest challenges and there is no doubt his transition to the United States from Europe has not gone as smoothly as he had hoped. Change in life is never easy and just because you’ve been a global athlete with huge success, doesn’t automatically mean everything falls into place immediately.
My honesty may seem harsh to some, but when you arrive with such fanfare, the fans expect to see an end product on the pitch. Whether or not the team around Chicharito is good enough isn’t up for debate right now, because he isn’t good enough…for now! With that said, he has played for some of the most revered clubs in Europe and been a star for his country. My money is on him having a resurgence and proving folks like me and many others wrong.

FLASHBACK – I’ve met some great people covering, LA Galaxy and MLS here in Southern California. This season, I was invited to join the, Corner of the Galaxy squad as a regular guest. Love being part of this show. Epic humans who know their football and LAG history.
The week of this particular show was also the week where we went live at, Dignity Health Sports Park. The rain came down, equipment was compromised, but nothing could stop us or the fans who came out in their hundreds to support the COG squad. Cannot wait until we can all go back to that!

From the despair of Diego Maradona’s Hand of God to seeing his beloved Foxes win the Premier League, we discussed it all with the man who fulfilled the bet of all bets… presenting Match of the Day… in his boxers! Get stuck in.
It’s Landon Donovan’s last press conference. He has just won another MLS Cup with his beloved LA Galaxy. It’s a fairytale ending. He’s had a picture book career. He has given everything to club and especially country.
What an honor to see him play his last professional game. What a privilege to be at his last LA Galaxy presser. He looks tired. He’s ready to walk off into the sunset as a champion.
I was given the opportunity to ask America’s greatest ever footballer a question. What would it be? Everyone is focused on questions about his game in the US. Why wouldn’t they be? This is America! But what about the Toffees? Everton fans fell in love with him. British football dug him. I had to ask. I had to represent. Everton fans…this one is for you!
Act One of the new season in Spain is over and Sophie and Ben return to dissect the action so far, as Barcelona begin with a perfect record under ‘Tata’ Martino.
