Bye-bye Manu, bye-bye…

TRUE_BLUE_____Emman_848719aIt looks like Arsenal fans have been given something to shout about this summer…they’re finally shot of Emmanuel Adebayor!

The love-hate relationship is over. Adebayor’s taunts about leaving have to be heard no more. And surprisingly, he didn’t end up at his “dream club” AC Milan. Adebayor signed-up for the Manchester City revolution and a whopping salary of 130,000 pounds a week. So much for wanting to play Champions League football and joining an elite European club.

Adebayor had one great season at Arsenal…in a contract year! This guy is a greedy little bugger who was out for the big bucks. If he really wanted to stay at Arsenal he would have. Robin van Persie just signed an 80,000 pound a week contract to stay with the Gunners. He made it very clear his next contract wasn’t about the money, it was about winning. Van Persie realizes he already makes a ton of cash. He was courted by Manchester United and Chelsea this off-season but he chose to stay at Arsenal. Adebayor on the other hand took an offer from the highest bidder and isn’t even guaranteed a starting place when the new season kicks-off in August.

Adebayor could be a huge success at Manchester City. He could also flop. So many players that have left Arsenal have failed to shine when they moved for bigger, better money. Look at what’s happened to Alexander Hleb at Barcelona. Flamini at AC Milan is doing much better now, but it was tough for him at first. And in the past Viera, Petite and Overmars flopped when they left Arsenal. They were not the same players. In the end, Adebayor’s pockets might be heavier, but he may have less silverware to admire when it’s time to put his feet up from his playing days.

Will Arsenal replace Adebayor? Is he a great loss to the team? Do you think Adebayor moved for money? Will he start at Manchester City? How loud will the boos be when he goes to the Emirates next season? I wrote an article about Adebayor last season. Check it out. http://britishsoccerdiva.com/prod/?p=61. Just shows you a leopard never changes its spots…

  1. Will Arsenal replace Adebayor???er NO. Wenger will not splash the cash. Was Henry replaced? if you call Adebayor a replacement for Henry then Arsenal fans are very mistaken. Adebayor is nothing BUT a money grabbing fool. He will not even start in the Man city line up. He is not good enough. Lazy player. Dont work for it. I will choose Robinho and Tevez everytime. plus Hughes now has like 8 Strikers I will pick the other 7 before Adebayor. What Formation will Hughes even play? a 1-1-8? All these strikers got the other teams running scared….i think not Man City will not finish in top 4.

Adebayors time at Arsenal was up time ago as is Wenger’s. Time for a new manager to splash the cash I think. Arsenal need players and thy need them now!

  2. LOL!!! I love the 1-1-8 formation. You are right…Henry wasn’t replaced and I never felt for a second Adebayor was his replacement. He just thought he was Henry!!! And we all know he ain’t that!

Not sure I agree about Wenger’s time. Certainly if Arsenal don’t win anything this coming season, there’ll be trouble in paradise…Let’s face it, if he goes who do they get? And if they get him, are Arsenal going to spend the money anyway?

How are Spurs doing this summer?

  3. arsenal will not spend the money.I will be very surprised if they do.I actually feel bad for the arsenal fans. so many are selling thier season tickets.

spurs? well us spurs fans say this every year that we will be sitting pretty at the top end of the table and hopefully above arsenal but this year I truley believe it.we have super harry starting the season off for us. modric and palacios are going to shine.

harry has something up his sleeve in the transfer window.can arsenal fans say the same??

  4. It would be revenge for Sol Campbell leaving you for Arsenal!! Your former captain left the Lane for the enemy all those years ago and now Arsenal’s former captain and God Viera could do the same! Ain’t life sweet sometimes. I just can’t see him wearing the white and blue…
